Didn't Baez contribute her own weirdness to Baby Blue? Her and Jerry clashing vocally (again, 12-12-81) and her 'dancing'. I would have told MH to leave his G/F at home!

The weirdness she contributed was that Jerry got to mess with an "off the bus" "straight" on his home turf, it was really funny. She looked scared as Jerry was beaming that radiant energy that escapes through the cracks of the veneer when you are in that state. The "Forget about the Dead" line is particularly impressive.

12/12/81 Jerry skipped Baby Blue and Joan sang it by herself. He didn't seem too into the Joan thing...but I guess he was obliged to be Hart's wingman.

That NYE was the last I saw of Joan and the Dead...Thank God! Unfortunately not the last time I saw her attempt to overshadow another performer on stage, even when she was the guest- I saw a couple of Bread and Roses shows.
